Truly vintage Huge Abstract Brooch from the 1930's-1940's. It has a 1" step-cut square deep orange clear glass stone that is prong-set at the corners. It has curves, curls, and ribbon like tentacles with the stone set above it. The width of the brooch is 3.5" and it is 1.75" at the widest point. The vine-like branches are irregular in length and width but average about 1/2" wide each. The face of the brooch has a brassy gold tone and the back sort of a coppery rose gold tone. I am not sure if this is made of brass or just brass toned - The metal is not that thick and is light for its size. It is 28.79 grams. The stone does have a blemish but I think it has been there since it was made - there is a little almost dent on the one facet - it is only about the side of a straight pin head but it is there. At some angles you don't see it It has typical vintage wear but still looks good - this is more an art type piece and I'd love to know the history on it but I don't - other than it came from a PA estate sale. It is in good condition especially considering its age. See photos. (Locator Win.10.24-3116.X1.L6.1816).
