Vintage Art Nouveau Brooch, Amethyst Clover Themed. Rare with the clover theme. In Vitorian and Art Nouveau days, three-leaf clovers signified Three domesticity, submissiveness, femininity, piety, virtue and fertility a white clover signified a promise. It is brass with a large amethyst colored stone appx 32mm by 17mm set with heavy prongs in the center of a framed scrolled filigree cut-out design. The rest is a setting of trailing clovers framing the brooch with a scalloped frame taking the shape of the outer petals of the clovers. It has a c-clasp. Age is early 1900's It is 3" by 2". It's a beauty early 1900's piece. Could be as early as the late 1800's. The pin has a little floppiness but it sits under the c-clasp and with fabric when worn it will rest in place. This is a heavy pin and would work on a coate easily as the pin can accommodate thicker fabric. Very good condition. This is from a PA estate. See Photos. (My Loc. Num.
